Charcoal Grill

Weber 751001 22 1/2-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill

I was invited to many a backyard cookout because I had the BBQ sauce recipe. I never had to worry about eating on weekends because everyone loved my sauce. But the problem always arose when I arrived with my bottle of hog wash. I was always expected to cook.

Now granted, I did not have to furnish the meat nor did I have to provide all the condiments. The grill was there waiting patiently for me to arrive so the party could start. All I had to do was cook while everyone else was having fun. But, I really didn’t mind it.

Gas grills was the new tool of outdoor grilling in our neighborhood. We were all young and time was not to be wasted messing around with charcoal, starter fluid, and waiting patiently for the embers to turn white so we could start grilling. No, everything had to be fast.

Any maestro of the backyard grill knows that barbecue sauce applied to ribs or chicken will burn if not turned and constantly watched. Gas grills are notorious for that.
But, then one Saturday I was invited to a cookout and discovered a grill that would change everything. It was the Weber Grill.

Since that day, I have preferred charcoal over gas. And Weber Grills are my choice hands down.

The heat radiates evenly because of the dome shape. The vents on top of the lid reduce flare-ups when they are opened halfway. The hinged grate allows easy re-fueling when necessary.

Starting up the charcoal is now easier with the Weber 87886 Chimney Starter. Starter fluid has been eliminated. Use a little newspaper and a match and you’re on your way. Here are some great reasons for buying this handy tool:

• Chimney starter system lights charcoal faster and easier
• Durable aluminized steel construction
• Stay cool thermoplastic handle adds safety
• Extra large capacity--holds enough briquettes for a 22-1/2-inch kettle grill
• Greatly reduces the amount of time it takes for coals to get ready

Charcoal grilling can be messy and cleanup troublesome, whereas a gas grill is simple. Just turn it off. But the Weber 751001 22 1/2-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill has improved on the startup and the cleanup. Here are some of the features of this beauty:

• Heavy-gauge porcelain enamel prevents rust
• One-Touch stainless steel cleaning system
• Removable high capacity ash catcher
• Hinged cooking grate for easy re-fueling
• 10 year limited warranty

Weber's One-Touch cleaning system uses a lever activated blade that sifts the ashes from the kettle into an ash catcher. No more dirty hands. And the best part it takes only a few seconds.

Now a good outdoor kitchen should have Weber’s charcoal and gas grill. Vegetables cook easier on a gas grill. Reserve the Weber One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill for your meats.

Go out and purchase a Weber. When you’re in your backyard grilling steaks, take a moment and thank the late George Stephen, Sr. for such a wonderful invention.

Happy grilling
